L-Pass

Updated on September 11, 2025: L-Pass is paused for new registration and renewals as of Sept. 9, 2025. EPL staff will be communicating next steps with L-Pass customers who created and renewed accounts between Aug. 20 and Sept. 9.

The University of Alberta Library has partnered with Edmonton Public Library (EPL) to bring convenient public library services to members of the University of Alberta community.

L-Pass (Library Pass): Current University of Alberta students and staff may register for access to all EPL services. Once registered, you can use your new L-Pass EPL account to check-out material from any EPL location or access their e-resources.

Renewing your L-Pass: The L-Pass must be renewed yearly before October 1. To renew, simply register for the L-Pass again from this page. Please note: Renewal process changed in August 2025 and is no longer tied to your ONEcard; you will be registered for a new version of an L-Pass EPL account.
